Upfront, I apologize for not having EasyMoblog replaced yet and fixing how text is formatted for RSS. I did try Serendipity a little this weekend, but I was actually doing things at work this week, so no migration.
Look at that, already off track. I’ve tried many times to start using duffman again this week for Solaris testing. Between forgetting memory, forgetting mouse, forgetting that I’m using dvd media without a dvd-rom, and putting a 512MB stick into a motherboard that will only accept sticks up to 256MB, I have realized that this might be the Linux gods’ way of telling me “NO!”. Whatever, I’ll find more RAM and try again tomorrow. Jerks.
On a random note though, I was thinking about the word blog. Obviously it is short for weblog, but I started questioning whether there was ever a site called WeBlog. I would assume that by now there would be some WeBlog social network service do-dad whatever, But no. Weblog.com is just an advertisement, weblog.net redirects to a Spanish forum, and weblog.org is someone’s personal blog. Interesting. This is the stuff I find interesting.

Damn easymoblog sucks. Task for the week: play with Serendipity and LiveJournal, WordPress, and others and migrate past posts to a new platform. I suppose I should also try CoMoblog, but since it’s based on easymoblog, I’m sure it’s crap.
Screw you EasyMoblog!!
Anyone want to suggest their recommended platforms?

I don’t remember what I’ve posted, but Kevin Smith wrote some stuff up last night and here’s what I’ve got from digging around.
Smith wrapped filming by December (forget date now). Amazing feat considering he originally planned to begin filming in January of 2006. A screening was done for about 50 people (consisting of Miramax execs, Smiths’ friends, and liked members of the ViewAskew forums), lasting about 1:38.
This morning, Smith posted some more status, as well as a trailer that can be found here. Great trailer. Shows some of the fun times in the movie and reveals little to no story. Good music selection for the trailer as well.
So what now? When will it be released? Some sound and effects still need to be added to the movie, but Smith is very happy with how it’s coming along. No release date yet, but sometime in August or September.
Sorry about dropping the ball on the last part there. I did have tabs open with Smith’s plan to bring the flick to a film festival (Cannes?), but I lost it in the confusion today.

I got a planet site working for the lug. While I like how simple Planet is, it also gets frustrating how little there is at the template system. The fact that I really don’t know CSS well, and was trying to make it look like the lug website didn’t help. But it’s up, and maybe some day down the line there will be more people than just me and Sean on there. Everyone knows I’m not entertaining.
While working on the planet though, I found out how borked my RSS feed was, at least the RSS 2.0 feed. A validator I used quit after the first three errors, but whoever wrote the feed generator module for easymoblog must know nothing about RSS. Hell, he used timestamps for pubDate elements. At least that’s fixed now.

I’m sure that I’m jinxing myself, but that year is off to a good start. My flag (sorry, couldn’t find an image) is finally hanging, so I suppose I’m officially moved in after four months or so. We had a snow day yesterday, which of course I wasted. And I finally have an interview Friday.
The 100 page countdown in The Hobbit has begone. I wanted to get it done by the end of the week, but I got lazy the past couple of days. Once it is done, I really need to start reading tech books again, starting with Web Programming with HTML, XHTML, and CSS, and Programming with GNU Software.
